Nowadays, people try to stay as far away as possible from the word religious because of the negative aspects we immediately connote to it. Instead, we call ourselves spiritual, because we believe in the type of God we would like to create for ourselves and we use the justification that: “Everyone has his or her own way of finding God.” But John 14:6 says “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
This bible verse is clear enough that there is only one way to God and that way is Jesus. There might be many ways to get to Jesus, but only one way to get to God. So if Jesus is not involved in whatever you call spirituality, then it is not leading to God. We should stop deceiving ourselves with this modern day spirituality and go back to the old path religion, finding Jesus first in order to grow in intimacy with God.
